[Abstract] : Weld seam tracking technology of Ruiniu robot contributes to welding quality

With the continuous improvement of welding technology, people have put forward higher and higher requirements on the welding precision and speed of many welding components. The general workers are difficult to maintain the stability and consistency of welding work for a long time due to the influence of objective and subjective factors such as technical level, fatigue degree and physiological limit. In addition, the sparks and smoke generated in the welding process will do harm to human body to a certain extent. In addition, with the decrease of demographic dividend, welding workers are becoming less and less, so the automation of welding process has become an urgent problem to be solved.

In recent years, the development of electronic technology, computer technology, numerical control and robot technology has provided favorable conditions for the automation of welding process, making the degree of welding automation improve continuously. At present, arc welding robots used in industrial production are mainly teaching and reproducing robots. In the process of robot arc welding, they can repeat the taught actions in their working space with high precision. But this also brings some limitations, that is, the strain capacity is very poor, to the workpiece assembly accuracy requirements are strict. If the welding condition is basically stable, then the robot can guarantee the welding quality.

But in the actual welding process, because the robot is working in order to avoid danger, the operators are not allowed to be or not to enter the robot work area, make the operator can't close to real-time monitoring welding process and make the necessary adjustment control, so when the actual welding condition changes, such as the artifacts in the process of welding in the process of processing and assembling size deviation and position deviation and heating workpiece deformation as a result of the change of factors such as joint position deviation teaching path, cause the loss of welding quality and even failure.

Therefore, accurate welding seam tracking technology is the key to ensure welding quality, and it is an important research direction to realize the automation of welding process. After years of technical accumulation in this aspect, Ruiniu robot has made breakthroughs in welding seam tracking technology to help improve welding quality.

In order to achieve accurate weld seam tracking, a set of weld seam tracking system should be provided for the arc welding robot, through which the weld seam deviation can be detected in real time, and the deviation can be compensated to the robot's motion trajectory in real time, so that the torch is always aligned with the weld center during the welding process, and the welding quality can be guaranteed.
