Basic detection principle of laser vision weld seam tracking

The basic principle of laser weld tracking is based on laser triangulation. The laser emitting line is irradiated to the surface of the workpiece, and after diffuse reflection, the laser profile is imaged on the CCD or CMOS sensor. Then, the collected image is processed and analyzed by the controller, so as to obtain the position of welding seam, which can be used to modify welding track or guide welding.

Laser position finding is a process in which a laser sensor is used to make a single measurement of the desired position and calculate the position of the target point.

What is the difference between laser tracking and laser locating?

(1) Compared with laser tracking, the function of laser position finding is relatively simple, and the realization and operation are also relatively convenient;

(2) Generally short welds or the use of laser tracking will interfere with the fixture, the form of laser locating is used to repair the weld;

(3) Laser tracking is installed with the front end of the welding gun, while seeking position and welding.

(4) Laser position finding is detected first and welded later, so it is not suitable for welding the workpiece with severe thermal deformation, and irregular weld with non-straight or circular arc.
